Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief strategist Mel Johnson has received multiple reports of damage from North Alabama. As of March 18, 6:00 p.m., our personnel cannot deploy to assess due to significant storm damage causing road blockage. Areas include DeKalb, St. Clair, Etowah, Marshall, and Walker are among the preliminary areas reporting damage.
DOM’s and DR leadership in the impacted associations are being contacted to begin assessment for response.
At least five people were killed and hundreds of homes — and at least two churches — were destroyed or damaged when tornadoes struck several Alabama communities on March 25.
